Chris joined the Group in June 2020 as Chief Executive Officer.
Chris has a mixed industry background, having previously held senior management roles with Kwik Fit as Divisional Director of Sales and Operations, seven years at the country’s largest brewer and pub retailer, Scottish and Newcastle PLC, culminating as Sales and Operations Director before joining Barratt & David Wilson North Midlands Divisions for over 6 years, where held a number of senior positions, including Divisional Managing Director, running the Barratt & David Wilson North Midlands Divisions.
Chris’s diverse background and time spent with Barratt Homes especially has provided him with valuable insight and understanding of the expectation of M&J Evans’ clients and the house building market in general. With his broad knowledge and experience, he has a clear strategy to ensure M&J Evans are seen as the Groundworks Partner of Choice.
Judith has over 20 years of experience within the HR sector and has worked at an international level as part of the Global senior leadership team. She brings a diverse background, having worked in many different sectors including retail, FMCG, e-commerce, fleet management solutions, healthcare, and Children’s Education Services.
Her strengths lie in transformation and change management. She is a true leader who has a passion for driving business performance through effective leadership, diversity and inclusion and an engaged workforce.
Steve joined the Management team in October 2020, bringing over 30 years of experience in manufacturing and mining. He is a chartered accountant, holds an MBA, and has held many senior roles.
Steve has also held CFO positions where his main focus has been on capital investment, product innovation, and technology, whilst maintaining strict control of the balance sheet.
Steve’s role plays an integral part in the strategic management across the group through his experience of process improvement, strict cash management, and M&A.
Simon joined the Senior Management team in February 2019.
He is a Chartered Accountant, qualifying with KPMG, with over 25 years of wide-ranging senior financial experience. He has previously worked with some reputable companies, where he has held the post of CFO
Adam joined the Senior Management team in April 2021 as Managing Director for our North West regional office.
Adam has over 14 years of experience within the construction industry. Prior to joining the team, he worked for Taylor Wimpey where he started as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and worked his way up to hold the position of Regional Operations Director before joining M&J Evans.
David joined the Senior Management team in April 2021 as Managing Director for our Yorkshire regional office.
David has worked in housing development for over 30 years, having previously held Director positions at Gleeson and Barratt Homes before
He has a Civil Engineering background with extensive experience in developing difficult housing sites. He has a passion for high improving localities through the built environment and has focused predominantly on regeneration throughout his career.
Alex joined M&J Evans in 2003 as a Quantity Surveyor and worked his way up through the business to Commercial Manager, Commercial Director before becoming a shareholder and Managing Director for our Midlands regional team.
With 20 years of experience in the construction industry and with M&J Evans, Alex brings a wealth of commercial expertise and knowledge to the Senior Management team.
Tim started his career in construction 17 years ago, progressing into a management role for Barratt Developments and then Wates before joining M&J Evans in 2014 as H&S Manager. He later took on the role of Operations Manager before he was appointed Operations Director in 2018. In 2021 he took up the position of Contracts Director before his recent promotion to Managing Director for the East Midlands Region.
Tim is driven by what he believes is both his and the businesses greatest asset, our people. He is committed to ensuring all members of the team are fully empowered and given a safe environment to work in. This coupled with his long-standing desire and ethos to deliver the “M&J Way”, ensures that all projects under his control are completed for our clients safely, quality right first time, in a timely manner and in line with budget.
Michael started his career as a Quantity Surveyor in 2008, working in Main Contracting before moving in to Bulk Earthworks in 2011. In 2013 he joined M&J Evans initially as a Quantity Surveyor before progressing into the role of Commercial Manager. In 2019 he was promoted to Commercial Director before his recent appointment to Managing Director for the West Midlands region.
Michael brings good commercial acumen and is able to offer a great understanding of his client base through his strong relationships he has built within the West Midlands region.
James joined the Senior Management Team in April 2019 as Managing Director for the Southern regional office.
James has over 25-years’ experience of working within the construction industry, progressing through a number of roles before becoming Commercial Director before joining M&J Evans.
James’ experience offers a balanced understanding of both client and contractor needs.
Alf has over 40 years’ experience within the groundworks construction industry. He started his career as a Quantity Surveyor for George Wimpey in the Southwest region before joining Flynn in 1982. He worked his way up through the commercial department, becoming Commercial Director. In 2011 he became Managing Director of Flynn. He completed the acquisition of Bristlewand in late 2017 before joining the M&J Group in August 2021. Alf’s experience within the Southwest supports our growth strategy and objectives to be the Groundworks partner of choice.
Dave joined M&J Evans as Chairman in November 2018. Dave has over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry. During that time he spent seven years as CEO of Keepmoat Homes. There, Dave was responsible for growing the business to deliver an extra 3,000 homes a year. From 2008 to 2012 he held the role of CEO at Apollo Property Services Group. Before merging with Keepmoat Homes in 2012, Dave successfully transformed the regional business into a national giant that delivered healthy profits for Apollo Property Services Group’s shareholders.
Dave is passionate about the regional expansion and growth of M&J Evans and for it to become the market-leading groundwork partner of choice for developers and housebuilders.
Reza has been involved with M&J Evans Construction since September 2018.
Reza is a Partner at Freshstream, an investment firm based in London, focusing on mid-market companies in the UK.
